Track or Rubber Tire Geoprobe – Model 540B
The Geoprobe® Model 540B direct push machine, one of Geoprobe's® most versatile utility units, has all of the standard features of truck/track mounted units, but uses a compact, skid-steer loader as the carrier/power source. It's small enough for tight places, but heavy enough for tough probing. PES owns both rubber tire and low ground pressure tracked Bobcat Skid steer loaders for the carrier/power function. PESs tracked skid steer is equipped with special order extended width low ground pressure tracks (full 18” wide). This option allows PES to successfully complete drilling needs in soft/ wet ground and/ or extreme slopes situations. The low pressure tracked capability allows for a high amount of traction coupled with minimal ground disturbance – thus minimizing site restoration needs. Additionally, the probing unit can be quickly removed from the skid steer loader to allow installation of an excavation bucket when drilling locations require clearance of snow, earth, debris or other modifications that prevent direct access. This flexibility results in cost savings to the project by eliminating the need for additional conventional excavation equipment.
It's a great unit for rough terrain and limited access probing. It has all the movement features of truck-mounted Geoprobe® machines, including hydraulic extension in and out from the carrier unit, hydraulic tilt for angle probing, and power lateral movement. The Model 540B comes equipped with remote ignition and hydraulic quick connects for easy connection to the unit's hydraulics.
Model 540B Features:
- All movements present on truck-mounted Geoprobe® machines, including hydraulic extension in and out from the carrier unit, hydraulic tilt for angle probing, and power lateral movement.
- 54-inch (1372 mm) stroke.
- 25,000 pounds (111kN) pulling capacity, the pulling power you'll need for today's deep probing projects.
- Longer stroke affords additional space under the probe shell for using longer probe rods and for attaching and removing tools.
- Equipped with GH40 Soil Probing Hammer.
- Direct slide lateral movement for offset placement of probes.
- Angle probing flexibility.
- Rear stabilization outriggers provide an unsurpassed stable drilling platform.
- Hydraulic power from skid-steer power components – superior to conventional track or truck mounted versions.
- Versatile mounting capabilities. Unit does not require full-time dedication to carrier vehicle – allowing completion of other on site tasks without the need for additional equipment.
- Remote ignition and throttle.
- Built-in rotary spindle for concrete drilling, auguring, and anchoring.
- Auxiliary hydraulic ports provide power for remote equipment
